Group and Solitary Retreat

Group Retreat: Weekthun and Dathun
A Dathun (Tibetan for “month session”) is a one-month group meditation retreat lead by a senior teacher. One may also attend one week of a dathun, referred to as a “weekthun.” These retreat situations take place at one of the beautiful Shambhala Practice Centers and are open to everyone. Retreats provide very powerful opportunities to deepen one's practice of mindfulness and awareness, work with a meditation instructor, and learn the traditional Japanese three bowl meal service.

Solitary Retreat

Under the guidance of a meditation instructor, solitary retreats are highly encouraged for Shambhala warriors who are engaged in the Sacred Path and beyond. Retreat cabins are situated at all Shambhala Practice Centers.
